Arjun and Shivani first crossed paths in January 2020 during a study-abroad program at the National University of Singapore. Although they shared friends and were often in the same circles, they never really connected at the time.
When COVID sent everyone home in March 2020, a group chat called World Tour was created so the exchange students could stay in touch. Through that chat, Arjun and Shivani slowly got to know each other—reading books together, watching shows and movies, and building a genuine connection from afar.
In August 2021, Arjun visited her in Vancouver and they finally spent time together in person for the first time. That visit marked the beginning of a long-distance relationship, with Shivani traveling frequently to San Francisco and Arjun visiting her in Toronto.
In 2024, the distance finally began to close when Arjun moved to New York, and coincidentally, Shivani started a job that brought her to the city every month. What once felt long-distance suddenly didn't anymore.
Now, Shivani has also moved to New York, officially closing the distance that once separated them! What began as a missed connection abroad, grew through screens and suitcases, and blossomed into a love rooted in patience, timing, and trust.
Proof that when two people are meant to be, no distance, no timeline, and no global pandemic can stand in the way.
